Welcome to Art on the Parish Green Festival in Historic Downtown New Albany.
Art on the Parish Green will celebrate its 7th year in 2013. Art on the Parish Green brings together the best in handmade arts and crafts from artists all across the Southern Indiana and Kentucky area. This year over 60 artists have been juried into this premier regional art festival! Visitors to the festival can purchase items from artists and craftspeople who have exhibited at shows such as St. James, Cherokee Triangle, Art in the Arbor, and Chautauqua. We try to have something to suit every visitor's taste and pocket book!
Other activities during Art on the Parish Green weekend will include live music featuring jazz, bluegrass and some old time favorites. Jamey Aebersold Jazz Quartet will treat festival goers to their own special brand of jazz on Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00! Check the festival music schedule for details on the great groups that will be playing all weekend.
Enjoy delicious food including all of the favorite summertime festival treats. Pulled pork or chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, smoked sausage~~with all the trimmings! Vegetarian treats as well! There's even a beer/wine garden with New Albany’s finest beer from The New Albanian Brewing Company and wine from River City Winery.
Family friendly activities abound at the YMCA of Southern Indiana's Kids' Art Place. Children [and adults!] can create their own craft masterpiece to take home. Games and art opportunities will be available, as will face painting! Take a carriage ride or have your picture taken with some of the characters from Seussical, the Musical! Special visits are scheduled for clowns and for Silly Safaris’ Angicat and her amazing animals [for you to pet if you dare!]. Check the festival Kids’ Place schedule for details on when to expect our special guests.
We look forward to seeing you on June 8th and 9th at the 7th annual 2013 Art on the Parish Green!
